Edilberto Coronado established his 3 hectare farm Bellavista over 30 years ago. It is located in Santa María, Huila, at 1850 masl, and the name Bellavista - ‘beautiful view’ - pays homage to the dramatic, picturesque landscapes that surround it. Coffee is at the heart of Edilberto’s daily life, and he lives on the farm with his family. Today, Bellavista has 13,000 coffee trees, intercropped with fruit trees and a small vegetable garden, with 5 permanent staff who oversee processing and daily maintenance.
This coffee was sourced by our import partners at Nordic Approach through Cuatro Vientos, a family-run export company founded in 2018 by third-generation coffee producer Yonatan González. Working across Santa María, Algeciras, and Acevedo, Cuatro Vientos is dedicated to showcasing Huila’s exceptional microlots while supporting the long-term financial sustainability of smallholder producers. For this coffee, ripe cherries are carefully handpicked, then washed and dried with precision, resulting in a clean, balanced coffee - a perfect reflection of Huila’s terroir and Edilberto’s dedication.
Seasonal buying is about seeing coffee as a crop not a commodity, buying in harmony with the growing seasons to enjoy coffee at its best. This kind of buying has always been the backbone of our business and it’s something we’ve improved and refined every year.
