This coffee was produced and processed by Wildan Mustofa and his wife Atieq Mustikaningtyas, at the Frinsa Estate. Their journey began in 2010, where an early commitment to quality set them apart - while most Indonesian producers focussed on wet-hulled coffees, Wildan and Atieq initially pursued washed methods, and have since become renowned for their precision with fermentation processes.
Found in West Java, the Frinsa Estate now spans 6 main growing areas, each with distinct altitudes and cultivars, and coffees are carefully separated by location, variety, and picking date. The estate operates with a rare level of vertical integration, with a wet mill, dry mill, and well-ventilated storage all located on site, allowing full control from harvest through to grading, sorting, and shipment. The Bahasa word ‘manis’, meaning ‘sweet’, perfectly reflects this natural lot, and it is our fourth year buying this coffee. Ripe cherries were carefully sorted and then dried whole on tarpaulins. The resulting coffee is process-forward, fruity and bright, while retaining the clarity Frinsa is known for.
