Adolfo Vieira and Ediline de Oliveira continue a century-long family legacy of coffee farming at Fazenda Passeio. Occupying an impressive 193 hectares, a very large farm by Brazilian standards, the site stands as a testament to heritage, balancing tradition, innovation and sustainability, earning the couple widespread recognition within Brazil’s specialty coffee scene.
Care and attention are central to the pair’s approach. Due to the steep terrain, all coffee is harvested manually using handheld shakers, with select areas and younger trees fully hand-picked. Each plot is closely monitored with the support of agronomists, monitoring tree health and soil composition, and post-harvest processing combines modern equipment with traditional patios and raised beds. This has allowed the farm to develop a diverse microlot programme showcasing distinct flavour profiles. Beyond quality, Fazenda Passeio places strong emphasis on sustainability and community. Solar energy powers the farm, native tree planting projects protect the local ecosystem and water sources, and long-term social programmes support workers and their families through education and training.
